Established in 1967, CIRES is a joint institute of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the University of Colorado Boulder. It is the largest of NOAA’s institutes nationwide. As a world leader in environmental sciences, CIRES conducts groundbreaking research into all aspects of the Earth system, including the hydrosphere, biosphere, geosphere, atmosphere, and cryosphere.

I worked on a few different collaborative projects and research groups listed below.

Inside the Greenhouse

  • We work to deepen our understanding of how issues associated with climate change are/can be communicated, by creating artifacts through interactive theatre, film, fine art, performance art, television programming, and appraising as well as extracting effective methods for multimodal climate communication.

    Created social media strategy, monthly media calendars, and tracked social media analytics

    Manage Twitter and Instagram accounts

    Created monthly newsletters and wrote content for web and social media

    Multimedia and video production

Media and Climate Change Observatory

  • MeCCO monitors 127 sources, 59 countries, in 13 languages to provide monthly and annual reports on global coverage of climate change and global warming.

    Monthly reports include 25 open-source datasets, 15 country & 7 region profiles

  • Contributor to monthly and annual reports and former social media manager and copy editor.

    I specifically monitor English Radio, and print news circulation in the UK, South East Asia, and Oceania.

Colorado Local Science Engagement Network

  • The Cooperative Institute of Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is partnering with the American Association for the Advancement of Science to develop and grow an informed, involved, and impactful Colorado Local Science Engagement Network (CO-LSEN).

  • I began working with Co-LSEN in 2020 as an intern an was quickly promoted to Communications Director by 2021.

    In addition to building our website and managing our social media, I worked on content projects such as Science Notes and Better Know a District including interviews of Congressmen Jason Crow and Joe Neguse of Colorado.
